Things went so well and the team worked so hard that we also cut a short path around the side of lagoon 1 to a great viewing platform overlooking the lagoon. We also levelled the path from the canal side to make it safer for people to the wooden bridge and steps.
As usual, the weather was great and the sense of contributing something to the reserve for everyone to feel the benefit of was very special. It was great to see some people we hadn't seen for a while and it was good to be able to welcome two new volunteers.
Already the steps have been well used. I met a couple out walking late on Sunday afternoon who were so appreciative of all that the group has done.
If you have never been on one of the work days (You can come for as long as you are are able) please consider it. We all have different abilities and skills and learn from each other, on top of that we continue to create some great friendships. The next work day will be in February. See the blog for details.
