On Site Meeting Held on November 26th 2011

(A snippet from Grahams post.) There was a site meeting at Cromwell Bottom on Saturday 26th of November to look at various areas with regards to the development of wildlife habitats. Thanks to everyone that came to the meeting on Saturday morning in rather inclement conditions. I think everybody agreed it was quite an eye opener as to how far the reserve has deteriorated due to very little or no management. (See home page for details of the next meeting.)

Spider Bridge over the River Calder.

 The reconnaissance party sets out.
The dense reeds on the lagoon.

The Open Area on the West lagoon.
The water depth is only a few inch

On the way back we walked along the Canal
side bund. This needs clearing from the
 encroaching branches.

Looking down at the West Lagoon from the
south Bund, discussing the likely
location of a hide.
